WALTHAM, Mass. – Nov. 19, 2014 –Digital marketing company iMakeNews, Inc. (IMN), will host a Twitter Q&A with Michelle Larter, worldwide director of Direct Selling at IMN, on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1-2 p.m. EST. The twitter chat will focus on the changing face of direct selling. Interested participants can tweet their questions to @mlarter using the #DSChange hashtag.
“Traditional direct selling stereotypes no longer ring true,” Larter says. “Half of all direct selling representatives today have busy households with young children. Plus, one out of four is male. The industry continues to grow and change.”
Earlier this year, the Direct Selling Association (DSA) released industry reports from 2013 to track recent industry growth. A few key findings:
“Our Twitter chat gives direct selling companies and representatives an open forum to discuss the changing industry and what it means for their businesses,” Larter says. “I look forward to a lively back-and-forth with participants. Hopefully they will feel empowered to adapt their businesses to meet future challenges.”
Larter has more than 20 years of sales experience. In 2003, she started her career in direct selling as an independent consultant. Her company consistently recognized her as among the top five percent of its U.S. consultants. She received the DSWA’s Visionary Award in 2010 for her unmatched support to the direct selling profession. Most recently she received the 2013 DSA Ethos Award for Partnership for her commitment to the growth, development, and profitability of DSA’s direct selling members.
